My final project for my photoshop class was to read several 10-minute plays (from 10-minute-plays.com), choose one of those plays, and make a poster for the play. The poster was to create interest in the play and give sufficient information regarding location, show times, ect.
The play I chose was "The Lightning-Rod Man." The play can be read here -http://10-minute-plays.com/comedies/lightning_rod_man.html. It is basically about a guy traveling door to door selling lightning rods, during a thunder storm. He goes to a little cottage in the woods, gets invited inside, and begins to use scare tactics to sell his lightning rods. An argument pursues, and the home owner throws the salesmen out into the rain.
In my poster, I was to use the stormy night and the cottage, to draw interest in the play. I didn't want to give much away, but leave the viewer wondering what the play was about.
